The Myanmar Red Cross Society has been providing primary healthcare services through mobile clinics for people affected by the earthquake and those temporarily displaced in Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region.
On May 9, primary healthcare services were provided to 194 displaced people at the Moe Mate Kone temporary displacement site in the Mingun area. On May 16, MRCS also provided primary healthcare services to 211 local residents in Mingun North Village who had returned from temporary displacement.
In addition, from May 4 to 16, mobile clinics were opened at Shwe Taung Oo Monastery, Mon Monastery, Thet Taw Shay Monastery, the Dhamma Hall in Poe Tan Ward, Man Gyi Kone Ward, and Kyauk Tar Village, which was near the center of the strong earthquake. During this period, primary healthcare services were provided to 1,176 people, and seven patients who required hospital treatment received financial assistance of 500,000 kyats each.
The mobile clinic activities and primary healthcare services were carried out by MRCS staff and local Red Cross volunteers in cooperation with local communities, with support from partner Red Cross societies.
