The President of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, Prof. Dr. Myo Nyunt, attended the 42nd General Assembly of the Norwegian Red Cross held from October 5th to October 8th, 2023, in Oslo, Norway.<\/p>\n

On October 4th, the day preceding the conference, the President of the Myanmar Red Cross Society engaged in a meeting with international representatives to establish international connections. During this meeting, he shared insights into the activities of the MRCS and held discussions with officials from the Norwegian Red Cross.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the President met with Mr. Jorgen Halldorsen, Director of International Programs, to discuss preparedness and plans for ongoing cooperation with the Myanmar Red Cross Society.<\/p>\n

Throughout the conference, discussions revolved around global Red Cross movement activities. Updates on processes were presented, and cooperation was explored, including a study of the emergency response storage facility.<\/p>\n

During the Panel Discussion segment of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Myo Nyunt, the President of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, along with the President of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society and the General Secretary of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, engaged in discussions with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and NorCross Humanitarian Branch. The focus of these discussions was on humanitarian needs in Myanmar, with an emphasis on strengthening MFA support and enhancing humanitarian response efforts.<\/p>\n

Throughout the meeting, the President of the MRCS actively participated in discussions with international representatives, contributing to the discourse on Red Cross activities and facilitating cooperation and information exchange.<\/p>\n
