A meeting between the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS), the Myanmar Youth Affairs Committee and the Yangon Region Youth Affairs Committee was held in the morning of August 16, 2026, at the Mingalar Hall of the Yangon Region Government Office. The meeting was jointly organized by the Myanmar Youth Affairs Committee and the Yangon Region Youth Affairs Committee.

At the meeting, Dr. Maung Thin, Union Minister for the Ministry of Youth Affairs and First Vice Chairperson of the Myanmar Youth Affairs Committee, and U Aung Naing Oo, Chief Minister of Yangon Region and Chairperson of the Yangon Region Youth Affairs Committee, delivered opening remarks.

Following the opening remarks, Professor Dr. Myo Nyunt, President of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, gave a presentation on the history of the Society.

Daw Aye Aye Nyein, Deputy Secretary-General, then provided an overview of the Society’s organizational structure, strategic goals, key activities, youth Red Cross development programs and projects, as well as the humanitarian activities currently being carried out by the Society. Daw Ei Ei Htwe, Assistant Secretary-General, also explained the Society’s domestic and international cooperation and related programs. Dr. Daw Tin Tin Lay, Vice President of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, and Executive Committee members provided additional explanations and clarifications.

The meeting was attended by regional ministers; the President, Vice President and Executive Committee members of the Myanmar Red Cross Society; the Deputy Secretary-General, Assistant Secretary-General and responsible officials; as well as the Chairperson and Secretary of the Yangon Region Red Cross Supervisory Committee and other officials at the regional level.
