Child Protection Project

MRCS carried out child protection activities in some targeted communities in 22 townships across the country by adhering to MRCS child protection policy. The objectives are to strengthen existing child protection mechanism including case management and reporting, raise awareness among communities on information related to child rights, child principles as well as how to reduce and avoid violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation in the communities. This initiative includes providing assistances to mine survivors and victims of emergencies in different circumstances. In mid of 2011 – 2016, more than 214000 people received MRCS child protection services, more than 100 child soldiers were reintegrated with their families through 348 trained volunteers. 40 mine survivors from the targeted communities also received assistances from Myanmar Red Cross Society.
