Logistics and Supply Chain Management Department

The Myanmar Red Cross Society has one of the strongest logistics and supply chain management department operating in the country today. Established after Cyclone Nargis in 2008. MRCS logistics provided support for relief distribution, transportation,  procurements of relief items, support to health and care activities and also disaster management programmes such as relief and recovery of 2008 Nargis Operation, 2015-2016 Flood Operation response , 2017 Rakhine Response Operation, Kachin and Shan Conflict Response Operation,2018 Flood Operation and other projects and programme which are implementing in Myanmar with the bilateral supports of PNSs. The Logistics Team is following the logistics procedures, carrying out customs clearance of the imported supplies and donations, dissemination of procedures and guidelines as well as training of staff and volunteers. The objective – To ensure MRCS has effective disaster preparedness and response capacity at all levels. The outcome – MRCS emergency response, relief and recovery are supported by effective and systematic logistics functions.
