On May 18th, the Myanmar Red Cross Society were provided humanitarian assistance to 100 earthquake-affected households to the Bago Region, Yethashay township, in Yeni township, Yekon village, Zeya Thein village and urban (3) wards, and 300 earthquake-affected households were provided humanitarian assistance in Okdwin township, Kywe Pwye township, Zee Phyu Thaung Village, Chwe Lae Chaung Village, Ok Pho village, Tin Kop Tan village, Bankuik Kone village, Thayat taw village, Con Mintha village, and five urban wards in Kyauk Pye township and also 19 earthquake-affected households in Phyu township, totaling (419) households. We provided 50,000 kyats in cash per (1) earthquake-affected household, tarpaulins, blankets, kitchens set, (6) kg of rice, male hygiene kits, female hygiene kits, mosquito nets, water bags, packages of instant noodles, crispbread, cooking oil, clothing, building materials and jerry cans and for those households which were completely destroyed by earthquake were providing the temporary shelters. In this support, Professor Dr. Daw Mya Thu and U Kyaw Moe Kyi, the Myanmar Red Cross Society, the Chairman of Bago Region the Red Cross Supervisory Committee, U Tun Tun Win and officials’ persons and Red Cross volunteers were provided relief supplies to the earthquake-affected people on ground. The Myanmar Red Cross Society is continuously working on ground to ensure that relief supplies donated by people from all over the country reach to the communities affected by the earthquake.
