On May 13-14, 2025, the Myanmar Red Cross Society distributed a total of 39,450,000 kyats in cash relief to 789 households affected by the recent earthquake in Southern Shan State. Each household received 50,000 kyats. The aid was provided to residents in several rural areas, including: Southern Shan State, Naung Shwe Township, (Nangthe group, Aidaunggyi, Sengyi, Myaunggyi, Kyayesa Kone North, Kyayesa Kone below, Kyayesa Kone South, Yetha village, middle of Minchaung, front of Minchaung, Bwesakone village, Nwadhamataung, Khaungdaing, Innpyin village, Loi An village tract, East Gaungdan, Nanpan village. In Kalaw Township, ward (11) and in Aung Pan Township, (Ye Cho village, ward 3 and 4, Moe Kaung, Ywa nansu, Nyaung Pin thout, Mingalar wards 1,2 and Hle Yoe). Additionally, rice, cooking oil, canned fish, dried noodles and oral dehydration salt packets donated by local donors were contributed in Aung Pan and Kalaw townships and then in Naung Shwe township, rice, dried noodles packets and oral dehydration salt packets were also contributed in totally to 789 households. To support the mental well-being of children affected by the earthquake, the Myanmar Red Cross Society opened child’s friendly space. This center provides a safe space for children to play and relieve their fears and anxieties. The center also offers information and knowledge on how to care and support children’s mental health. The Myanmar Red Cross Society is continuously working on ground to ensure that relief supplies donated by people from all over the country reach to the communities affected by the earthquake.
